Event Volunteers

TEACHER APPRECIATION VOLUNTEERS

Teacher Appreciation volunteer tasks include providing food and drinks, helping with setup and cleanup, and serving as hosts for events.  Teacher Appreciation has events and opportunities to volunteer monthly, and Teacher Appreciation Week is in February. 

HOSPITALITY VOLUNTEERS

Hospitality volunteer tasks include providing food and drinks, helping with setup and cleanup, and serving as hosts for events.  Hospitality has events several times each semester, often for the public.

GROUNDS CLEANUP VOLUNTEERS

Grounds Cleanup & Beautification volunteer tasks include helping to coordinate Grounds Cleanup days, working on Grounds Cleanup days to beautify all our outdoor spaces.

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS

Book Fair volunteer tasks include helping to plan and coordinate our book fair, and/or volunteering to help children choose books or check out on Book Fair days.  The Book Fair also has a kickoff party. Book Fair is typically in the Fall.

COMMUNICATIONS VOLUNTEERS

Communications volunteer tasks helping to spread the word about upcoming events at HMES, usually through fliers or written communications.

ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERS

Environmental Committee volunteer tasks include coordinating our school’s recycling efforts and working with the teachers who oversee Environmental Club to encourage and promote recycling and environment care at HMES.

HENDERSON HAPPENING VOLUNTEERS

Henderson Happening Fall Carnival volunteers tasks include working at the ticket table, setup and clean up, helping to recruit or oversee volunteers, and managing the event in October.

HISPANIC & LATINO OUTREACH VOLUNTEERS

Hispanic and Latino Outreach volunteer tasks include working with our community to engage and invite Hispanic and Latino students and their families into leadership and participation at HMES.

MARCH MANIA VOLUNTEERS

March Mania volunteer tasks include setup and cleanup for all the major events related to our school’s only major fundraiser, prize patrol, decorations, publicity, pep rallys, free throw contest, and class awards & recognition.

GA PTA REFLECTIONS VOLUNTEERS

Reflections volunteer tasks include promoting this annual event, helping to compile entries, judge recruitment, and recognition for students.

SCHOOL PHOTO VOLUNTEERS

School Photo volunteer tasks include coordinating the arrival and rotation of classes coming to have photos taken.

STEM NIGHT VOLUNTEERS

STEM Night volunteer tasks include planning, setup and cleanup for this annual event.  May include seeking out presenters and coordinating volunteers, and recognition of our business partners and community leaders.

SPIRIT NIGHT VOLUNTEERS

Spirit Night volunteer tasks include helping to plan and coordinate HMES Spirit Nights, including setup, cleanup, and working at the raffle table.

YEARBOOK VOLUNTEERS

Yearbook Volunteer tasks include working on the planning and production of the yearbook, sales and distribution.
