Dear Henderson Mill Family,

It is time for us to begin looking forward to the 2020-2021 school year.  While we did not end the 2019-2020 school year the way we imagined and did not anticipate returning virtually we will move forward with a positive mindset.

The Henderson Mill Staff has been working diligently preparing ourselves to start the school year.  We are excited to have new families and welcome back our returning families.  We are equally excited to have new staff members join us this year.  Please join me and welcoming them below.

  • Michelle Williams – 3rd Grade
  • Ashley Schoenecker – 4th Grade
  • Shawn Goodwin – Special Education
  • Jessica Ross – Sp. Ed. Para
  • Michelle Estrella – Food Service
  • Sherika Reynolds – Custodian

For those of you who were not aware, Henderson Mill Elementary received the Creative School Arts Integration School of Excellence Award for the Georgia Department of Education at the end of the school year during the world’s pandemic.  This award recognizes that all students at Henderson Mill have access to arts integration in every subject and there are both rigor and relevance in our arts integration program. It was so nice to receive positive news in the middle of a national crisis.

As we move into the 2020-2021, I know we will have lots of questions and growing pains, but I recommend the following:

  • Begin working on a routine
  • Begin setting a bedtime
  • Set up a good learning/working space
  • Maintain a positive attitude

I value the partnership between teachers, parents and administration and welcome the positive energy and dedication to our school and students. We will continue maintaining high expectations, working collaboratively and promoting continuous academic achievement. While I know things change quickly during this COVID-19 time, we are stronger and better when we work together.

We are better together

I appreciate in advance your flexibility, and communication and patience will be the key as we transition back to school.  More information is coming next week regarding registration and the start of school for the 2020-2021 school year.
