Signage and Preparations
As we wait for guidance on the return date to school, we are preparing the building by posting signage to guide us safely in the building. We are posting directional signage and placing social distancing reminders throughout the building. We are working diligently to provide a safe environment when your child returns.
A Note from the Wellness Committee: January’s Wellness topic is “Think About Nutrition”. We are learning about the importance of good nutrition and a balanced diet in our daily lives. Videos include topics like Proteins, Carbohydrates, Vitamins & Minerals, and Eating the Rainbow (which simply means, eat colorful foods!). Composition Notebooks
Henderson Mill Elementary School is collecting Composition Notebooks for our students to use as
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) journals.
In order to maintain STEAM certification, our awesome educators have to go through a very rigorous review process. One of the requirements is that every student must maintain a STEAM notebook throughout the year, to demonstrate how STEAM principles are interwoven into every aspect of their curriculum.
If you have any extra composition notebooks lurking in your closets (wide or college ruled, doesn’t matter) – please consider dropping them into the labeled plastic bin at the school entry at your convenience. Feel free to purchase new and donate as well if you would like to help!
Thanks so much for your support!
African American History Program
We are preparing for an African American History Program in February.
Be on the lookout for a flyer soon.
