Dear Henderson Mill Family,

We are working fast and furious to finalize details to begin the 2020-2021 school year online on Monday, August 17.  This school year promises to be unprecedented, but we will push forward by thinking outside the box and focusing on what we can do instead of what we can’t do.

I have outlined the general school schedule and other important information as we start our virtual school environment. Students will meet Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Wednesday will be a workday for students while teachers conference with parents, participate in professional learning and have team level meetings.

The schedule below includes breaks throughout the day and a common lunch time.  All teachers are expected to provide both “live” and recorded instruction throughout the day. Teachers will provide you with a specific homeroom schedule next week.

All classes will be using Google Classroom for instruction and Class Dojo for communication.

7:45-8:30	Breakfast at home
8:30 – 8:45	Technology Check, Gather materials & Login
8:45 – 9:00	School Pride, Announcement, etc.
9:00 – 9:40	Extended Learning Time – Targeted instruction
9:45 – 10:30	Instructional Time
10:30 – 10:40	Break
10:40 – 11:25	Instructional Time
11:25 – 11:35	Break
11:35 – 12:20	Instructional Time
12:20 – 1:05	Lunch Time for all grades
1:05 – 1:50	Instructional Time

 

Chromebooks – All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will receive Chromebooks next week.  The district has purchased additional Chromebooks for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd and you will be notified when they arrive.

Instructional Materials – We are expecting instructional materials to be delivered soon for students.  These materials will include consumable materials.  Once they arrive, you will be notified for pickup.

Homeroom Teacher – Your child’s homeroom teachers will be contacting you next week to introduce themselves to you.

School Supplies – The school supply list is attached and will be posted on the Henderson Mill website.   School Supply List 2020-2021

Virtual Open House – We will host a Virtual Open House/Meet the Teacher for all classes on Thursday, August 13.  You will receive information from your child’s teacher.
