Important Announcement: The Reflections deadline has been extended to Friday, October 23rd! This means you have an additional 5 days to create an amazing submission for this year’s art competition. So, put on your thinking caps and tell us why YOU matter! In this virtual schooling world, it is even more important than ever to express yourself creatively. And, you guys know what the A in STEAM stands for – ART – one of the most special parts of being a Henderson Hawk!
Reflections is a nation-wide arts competition, sponsored by the PTA. It is open to ALL students and fosters creativity and self-expression. Students are encouraged to submit works inspired by this year’s theme. “I Matter Because…”, in the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Students may submit pieces in as many categories as they desire!
Winners are chosen based on interpretation of the theme and creativity – not solely on artistic talent. For the past several years, many of our HMES participants have advanced to both the county and state level of competition.
