A huge “Thank You” to the STEAM committee and parents, Ms. Henning, Ms. Doherty and Ms. Kohoth for a successful STEAM Night. – We really appreciate all the time, effort, energy, resources, and everything you did to make it a great night! The students were still excited about on Friday.

On behalf of Georgia Shape, the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is pleased to award $6000.00 to Henderson Mill Elementary for School Nutrition and Physical Activity strategies. Henderson Mill will use this grant to promote physical for both students and staff.  We will purchase an additional hydration station, jump ropes and fitness equipment for the staff to promote good health habits.

A Note from the Wellness Committee: April’s Wellness Initiative is “Let’s Get Moving!” and we’re ready to learn about moving our bodies for physical health. Students will learn about cardiac health and the importance of aerobic exercise for lifelong, healthy habits. Parents can help by talking to your child about exercise and modeling our wellness goals by getting outside and being physically active with them. As the weather is improving, we hope your activity levels are too!

Our next Spirit Night will be Tuesday, April 27 from 5pm to 8:00 at Uncle Maddio’s on Lavista.  Uncle Maddio’s will donate 15% of sales to Henderson Mill so your attendance helps our school and supports a great local business.  We welcome all students, teachers and staff to come to support our community.
